NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Tennessee at Martin was responsible for a trio of 2022-23 Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholars as it was announced today that Jacob Uehlein, Bryson Morrell and Ethan Ray each nabbed those prestigious accolades.

A total of 546 student-athletes from 193 NCAA Division I men’s golf programs were spotlighted with GCAA All-America Scholar honors. To be eligible for this award, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically, must participate in 50 percent of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career Grade Point Average of 3.2. Recipients must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

The Skyhawk golf program has now generated 18 GCAA All-America Scholars since 2016. Uehlein becomes the first player in school history to win the award three times in a career while Morrell is only the sixth UT Martin golfer to claim this honor at least twice. Today’s announcement marks the first such accolade in Ray’s career.

Overall, the Skyhawks were one of four Ohio Valley Conference schools to place members on the 2022-23 GCAA All-America Scholar list – joining Lindenwood, Little Rock and SIUE. UT Martin’s three representatives are tied for the second-most of any NCAA Division I institution in the state of Tennessee, trailing only Memphis (four).

Hailing from Tullahoma, Tenn., Uehlein came away with a 75.1 stroke average last season. The graduate student owns a 3.73 cumulative GPA as an agricultural business major in his Skyhawk career.

Morrell, a graduate out of Knoxville, Tenn., sported a 75.4 scoring average in 2022-23. He is responsible for a 3.59 career cumulative GPA while majoring in engineering.

A redshirt junior accounting major, Ray accounted for a 74.1 stroke average this past season. The Collierville, Tenn. native has collected a 3.55 cumulative GPA in his collegiate career.
