– Dresden erased an early 14-point hole to outscore the Chargers 28-14 in the 2nd half, and knock off their Weakley County rivals for the 2nd straight season. Cameron Schlicht completed 13/21 passes for 182 yards and 3 TDs, while Tristan Jett rushed for 138 yards and 3 TDs to lead the Lions. Miles Vincent led Westview’s air attack by completing 16/27 passes for 420 yards with 5 TDs and 1 INT. Dontez Joy exploded for the Chargers with 8 receptions for 335 yards and 3 TDs, good for the 3rd most receiving yards ever in a Tennessee High School Football game.
Milan 28, South Gibson 21 (Thursday)
– After trailing 14-0 in the 2nd quarter, Milan stormed from behind to knock off their county rivals to the south in another thriller. The Bulldogs have now won 4 of the last 5 meetings in the series.
Adamsville 40, Fayette Academy 21
– The Cardinals scored 27 points in the 2nd quarter and never looked back to beat the visiting Vikings in emphatic fashion.
Bolivar Central 50, Fayette-Ware 6
– Carson Howell’s dual threat performance powered the Tigers to a huge season opening win at Fayette-Ware. Howell completed 9/11 passes for 150 yards and 3TDs, while adding 115 rushing yards and 2 TDs on 13 carries.
Collierville 35, Riverside 14
Crockett County 39, Jackson North Side 15
– Playing with heavy hearts in light of the tragic passing of Offensive Coordinator David Barker’s daughter Reese, Crockett County picked up an emotional home win over the visiting Indians.
Dyersburg 33, Dyer County 7
– The Choctaws took an early 7-0 lead, but the Trojans scored 33 unanswered points to win going away, and avenge last season’s defeat to their in-county rivals.
Ensworth 40, Union City 6
– Teyhari Jones returned a 1st quarter punt 79 yards for a TD to give the Golden Tornadoes an early lead, but from there visting Ensworth proved to be too much. Jacob Arnold led Union City with 63 yards rushing on the night.
Hardin County 48, Memphis Business Academy 12
– The Tigers erupted for 34 points in the 2nd quarter to put visiting Memphis Buisness Academy away early in the evening. Carter Smith led Hardin County with 159 yards and 4 TDs on the night.

– JCM returned to varsity action for the first time since 2015 with a big road shutout at Liberty. Jonas Patterson led the Cougars with 163 rushing yards and a score on 13 carries.
Jackson Christian 21, Northpoint Christian 14
– The Eagles survived a late push from visiting Northpoint Christian behind 3 TD passes from Austin Kelly to Jaylen Mosley. Mosley caught 12 passes for 157 yards, while Kai Wyatt registered 12 tackles and a forced fumble for the defense.

– Jackson Overton powered the Bobcats to a big 2nd half, rushing for 2 TDs and throwing for another, as McNairy Central ran away from Humboldt.

– 2 TD runs by Courgars QB Jordan Bell powered Munford to their 2nd straight win over their Tipton County rivals at home.
Obion County 42, Lake County 14
– The Rebels outscored the Falcons 21-0 in the 2nd half to run away with a season opening win, and avenge an 8-point home loss a year ago. Quarterback Hamilton May was the engine for Obion County, racking up 119 rushing yards and a TD on the ground, while completing 10/11 passes for 205 yards and 2 TDs compared to 1 INT. Tucker Moore added 90 yards rushing and 2 TDs, while Kweli Purifoy caught 7 passes for 156 yards and 2 TDs to aid a Rebel offense that racked up 409 total yards. Calvin Mullins led the way for Lake County with 148 yards rushing on 25 carries with a TD.
Perry County 34, Greenfield 7
– Visiting Perry County racked up 400 yards of total offense to spoil the Yellowjackets’ home opener. Easton Sullivan threw a late TD pass to register the lone score for Greenfield.

– Jeremy McFarland threw for 4 TDs, while Dallas Whitehead rushed for 115 yards on the ground to lead the Red Devils to a season opening road win in Kentucky.

– The Lions battled back from an early 13-0 hole to pitch a 2nd-half shutout and knock off the Eagles in the first game of the Darren Bowling era.

– USJ held off a late Golden Tide charge in the 4th quarter to win a defensive slugfest in Coach Derrick Pritchard’s first game at the helm of the Bruins. Noah Spencer led the charge for the Bruins with 170 rushing yards and 2 TDs.
