– Adamsville scored 15 1st quarter points and never looked back as the Cardinals held off their McNairy county neighbors. Malachi Moore ran for 124 yards and a score to pace the Cardinals. Jackson Overton led McNairy with 98 yards rushing and a TD.
Bolivar Central 51, Fayette Academy 20
– After trailing early to visiting Fayette Academy, the Tigers scored 32 points in the middle 2 quarters to pull away and get off to a 2-0 start. Carson Howell again had a big night for Bolivar, posting 100 yards passing with 2 scores, and 150 yards on the ground with 2 TDs.
Camden 53, Hollow Rock-Bruceton 31
– An explosive offensive powered the Lions to their first win of the season to the tune of 519 yards of total offense. Jaylen Boggs rushed for 230 yards and 3 TDs, while Isaac Moore added 146 yards and 4 TDs. Nate Redmond led Camden’s defense with 11 tackles.

Dresden 42, McKenzie 14
– In perhaps the biggest eyebrow raiser of the evening, Dresden went on the road to defeat the reigning 1A State Champions in emphatic fashion. The win ended McKenzie’s 16-game win streak dating to last season. Cameron Schlicht was the star of the Lion show, throwing for 225 yards and a 1 TD, while adding 109 yards and 4 TDs on the ground.

– After exchanging blows in a first half shootout, the Tigers outscored Giles County 13-0 in the 2nd half to knock off the Middle Tennessee visitors and improve to 2-0 on the season. Carter Smith guided an offense that lit up the stat sheet to the tune of 491 total yads, passing for 243 yards and 2 TDs. Jake Saunders rushed for 144 yards and 2 scores, while Kam Haymon added 95 yards and another TD.

– The Austin Kelly-to-Jay’Len Mosley connection was on full display once again as the Eagles thrashed the Golden Tide on the road. Kelly tossed 4 TD passes en route to a 324 yard performance, while Mosley caught 9 of those passes for 187 yards and 2 TDs.
Jackson North Side 54, Liberty 8
– Bouncing back from last week’s road loss, the Indians gave new Head Coach Woodrow Lowe his first win at North Side and an early win in the Commissioner’s Cup by racing out to a 54-0 halftime lead.
Jackson South Side 21, Jackson Central Merry 19
– In a roller coaster of a contest, it was the Hawks who held serve at the end to give 1st-year Head Coach Lester Narcisse his first career win. The Cougars scored in the dying moments, by Jackson South Side denied the 2-point conversion that would have tied the game. The Hawks are now 1-0 in Commissioner’s Cup play.
Milan 35, Chester County 27
– Carmelo Jones rushed for 215 yards and a TD while, Carson Pruitt rushed for 2 scores to lead the Bulldogs to a big road win at Chester County. Milan jumped out to an early 13-0 lead, before Chester came back to take the lead twice, before Milan scored twice in the 4th quarter to seal the win.
Obion County 14, Westview 13
– After both teams scored a ton of points a week ago, it was the defenses that stole the show Friday. Tucker Moore’s early 4th quarter TD run proved to be decisive in this one, giving the Rebels their first 2-0 start since 2011. Despite out-gaining the Rebels 295-135, Westview fell to 0-2 with costly mistakes haunting the Chargers all night. Hamilton May led the Rebels with 53 yards rushing, with Tucker Moore adding 48 more and a TD run. Kweli Purifoy took the opening kickoff of the 2nd half back for a 75-yard score to aid Obion’s cause. Cody Meeks led the Charger cause with 80 yards rushing and a TD, while Miles Vincent threw for 122 yards and a score.
Riverside 54, Lexington 7
– Desmond Thomas rushed for 110 yards and a score while also catching an 88 yard TD while Stone Thomas threw 4 TD passes on his lone completions of the night as the Panthers throughly thrashed their neighbors from Parsons.

South Fulton 40, Fulton County (KY) 12
– The Red Devils hit the 40 mark for the second week in a row behind another big offensive performance. Brady McFarland rushed and threw for a TD, while Dallas Whitehead rushed for 168 yards and 2 TDs. The win propeled South Fulton to their first 2-0 start since 2017.
South Gibson 42, Hamilton 22
– Heath Howe and Landon Dowdy rushed for a combined 270 yards and 5 TDs as the Hornets knocked of the Memphis visitors for their first win of the season.

USJ 20, Union City 19
– Union City raced ahead early for the 2nd straight week behind touchdowns on their first possessions in both halves, but a combination of USJ’s short passing game, 4 Golden Tornado turnovers, and 2 Noah Spencer TDs were the recipe for a Bruin comeback win. Corben Howard threw for 147 yards and a TD, while Noah Spencer rushed for 104 yards and 2 TDs on the ground for USJ. Jacob Arnold rushed for 160 yards and a score, while Keaten Brown added 123 and 2 TDs for Union City.
