MCKENZIE, Tenn. – It did not take new softball Coach Katherine Hannagan long to add her first player to the Lady Wildcat program. Gleason’s Claudia Pineda signed with the Cats on Monday. Claudia is the daughter of Filadelfo and Johanna Pineda of Gleason and will major in Criminal Justice.
Pineda was named to the 13A All-District team in 2021 and 2023. She captured the Slugger Award in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Off the diamond, Claudia was a member of the FFA and was awarded the Golden Bulldog award.
Pineda feels her biggest strengths are her positive approach to the game and her willingness to learn.
Coach Hannagan commented, “I’m very excited to add someone who will be a positive addition to the clubhouse. In the short time I’ve known Claudia she has made me laugh multiple times and I know her sense of humor will go a long way in creating the positive culture we’re building at Bethel”
