MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Union University men’s cross country team posted a third place finish at the Rhodes College Invitational Saturday morning. The 8K event took place at Shelby Farms and featured 12 teams with 113 runners.
Union finished third behind NCAA D1 Arkansas State in first and fellow Gulf South Conference and D2 foe, Christian Brothers in second.
Union’s top three runners all scored points in the top-20 led by Tristan Kelly in 16th place with a time of 26:49. Ryan Keeton was 18th (26:55) and Stewart Brown was 19th (26:55). Jonathan Litscher in 23rd (27:02) and Benjamin Blackwood in 28th (27:18) also scored for Union.
Micah Win finished 31st (27:24), Luke Winkleman 37th (27:48), Caleb Cook 39th (27:52), Riley Garrison 51st (29:07), William Craig 71st (31:03), Kaydan Patterson 89th (33:17), and Steven Hirte did not finish.
Up next for Union will be the Chili Pepper Cross Country Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas September 29 in Fayetteville.
