Union Women’s Soccer Earns 3-0 Win Over Delta State

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Sep. 22nd, the Union University women’s soccer team won their game against Delta State University 3-0. The Lady Bulldogs are now 3-2-1 overall, and Delta State is 1-6-1.

The game was scoreless until the 76th minute when Union’s Ava Duval scored a goal, assisted by Rebekah Jackson and Ella Neely. In the 86th minute, Lucia Revuelto scored Union’s second goal. Claire Maxon got the assist. Jackson scored a goal of her own in the 88th minute. She was assisted by Irene Arias.

Delta State led in shots 15-14, but Union led in shots on goal 8-3. Delta State also had more saves and corner kicks with five and seven, respectively, while the Lady Bulldogs had more fouls with 14.

Duval led Union with three shots in the game, all on goal. Sophie WalshMadison Woolridge, Jackson, and Revuelto each had two shots. Both of Revuelto’s shots were on goal. Rylee Iorio played all 90 minutes in goal with three saves.

The Lady Bulldogs’ next game is a home matchup with Mississippi College on Sep. 24th at 1:00 p.m. with senior day festivities beginning at 12:45 p.m.
