
JACKSON, Tenn. – Union falls to West Alabama in a five set thriller by a score of 3-2 (26-24, 25-22, 25-22, 27-25, 15-12). Union moves to 3-11 overall (1-1 GSC). West Alabama improves to 3-11 overall (1-2 GSC).
The Lady Bulldogs drop a tough loss to West Alabama in five sets. Union won two of the first three sets (set one and three), before losing the final two. As a team, West Alabama led Union in team hitting percentage (.148), total attacks (196), kills (61), points (113), and blocks (12).
Reese Owens led Union with 16 kills. Ashley Pruitt totaled a team best 29 assist. Marie Torosian had a good day defensively, leading the Bulldogs in digs with 26. Other notable performers for Union include Sydney Whittaker (8 kills, 2 block assist, .286 hitting percentage), Vanja Stefanovic (10 kills, 2 block assist, .286 hitting percentage), and Davey Slaughter (1 kill, 5 assist, 25 digs, .333 hitting percentage).
Union will be back in action September 29th in Pensacola, Florida to take on West Florida (#16).
