
JACKSON, Tenn.—On Sep. 29th, the Union University men’s soccer team lost their game against Christian Brothers University 2-1. The Bulldogs are now 3-4-1 overall and 1-3 in GSC play, while Christian Brothers is 4-1-2 overall and 1-1 in GSC play.
In the 26th minute of the game, Felipe Arteaga scored CBU’s first goal of the game. Paul Bobai got the assist. Union tied the game in the 33rd minute when Ostian Bowen won a penalty and scored it. Ruben Neubauer scored the game winning goal for Christian Brothers in the 38th minute as the rest of the game was scoreless.
CBU led in shots 22-4, shots on goal 8-1, and corner kicks 7-1. Union had more saves and fouls with six and nine, respectively.
Alpay Altuntas, Stan De Vries, Alexander Lapkalo, and Bowen each had one shot for the Bulldogs with Bowen’s shot being the only one on goal. Botond Nemeth played the entire game in goal with six saves.
The Bulldogs’ next game is a home matchup with the University of West Alabama on Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
