Union Women’s Cross Country Finishes 29th At Chili Pepper Race

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Union University women’s cross country team posted a 29th place finish at the Chili Pepper (Harter’s Habanero) Race. The 5K event was the second of two women’s events hosted by the University of Arkansas and featured 34teams and 297 runners. It also featured mostly division I schools.

Union finished 29th with an average time of 19:36. Arkansas won their home event with a time of 16:47. Fellow Gulf South Conference opponent Christian Brothers finished 32nd.

Victoria Markham led Union in 117th place with a time of 18:57. Union’s Ayla Young was 163rd (19:20), Mary Scott Tritt 205th (19:48), Sydnee Meadows 214th (19:55), Addi Aguayo 223rd (20:00), Camille Haas 284th (21:58), LIndsey Dismuke 285th (21:59), and Holly Blackwood 286th (22:08).

Up next for Union will be the Alabama Huntsville Invitational at John Hunt Park, October 7 at 8:50 a.m.
