BRENTWOOD, Tenn.- For the second straight week, University of Tennessee at Martin soccer standout Catey Hunt was named the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

The McDonough, Ga. native helped UT Martin post two shutouts on the week while playing the full 90 minutes in each match. In Thursday’s contest against three-time defending conference tournament champion SIUE, Hunt anchored a back line that allowed zero shots on goal. Then on Sunday in Cape Girardeau, the graduate was a part of a defensive front that surrendered just four shots to SEMO.

Hunt becomes the first Skyhawk to win the award three times in one season. Additionally, this is the first time UT Martin has had three Defensive Player of the Week recognitions since 2014 and fourth time overall (also occurring in 2009 and 2008).

The Skyhawks will open up the OVC Tournament on Friday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m against Little Rock in Evansville Ind.
