Union Women’s Soccer Falls to Lee University In Regular Season Finale

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Oct. 29, the Union University women’s soccer team lost to Lee University 4-0 in their final regular season game of the season. Union’s record drops to 8-8-1 overall (7-6 GSC) while Lee improves to 13-0-4 overall (11-0-2 GSC).

The first goal of the game came in the 17th minute when Juliana Lopes scored a goal, assisted by Hailey Johnson. Lee’s Amelya Jacobs scored in the 34th minute to make the game 2-0. She was assisted by Grace Berry. Berry scored a goal of her own in the 52nd minute. In the 77th minute, Jacobs scored her second goal of the game and Lee’s fourth. Mallory Miller got the assist.

Lee led in shots 19-9, shots on goal 7-6, saves 6-3, corner kicks 3-0, and fouls 8-6.

Claire Maxon had five of Union’s shots and four of them were on goal. Tessa Erzen and Lucia Revuelto each had one shot, both on goal. Rylee Iorio played all 90 minutes in goal with three saves.

The Lady Bulldogs will play in the GSC Quarterfinals on Nov. 4.
