UT Martin Equestrian Remains Ranked #10 In NCEA Polls

WACO, Texas – For the ninth time during the 2023-24 campaign, the University of Tennessee at Martin is featured in the top-10 equestrian teams in the country as the National Collegiate Equestrian Association unveiled its rankings this afternoon.

The Skyhawks were ranked 10th in today’s poll as seven of the 10 squads remained in the same position as the previous week. TCU remained atop the rankings while the next three spots each featured changes (No. 2 Auburn, No. 3 SMU and No. 4 Texas A&M). Georgia stayed at No. 5 and was followed by No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 7 South Carolina, No. 8 Baylor, No. 9 UC Davis and No. 10 UT Martin.

Heading into the final two meets of the fall this weekend, the Skyhawks have displayed a balanced scoring attack this season. In the Jumping Seat discipline, seven different UT Martin fences riders have combined for 10 wins, one MOP and a 79.6 scoring average. In flat, six separate Skyhawks have joined forces for 12 victories, two MOP’s and a 79.5 scoring average.

Both Western discipline lineups have remained the same for UT Martin all fall. Five Skyhawk riders have accounted for 10 wins, a pair of MOP’s and a 70.1 scoring average in horsemanship. UT Martin has earned its most event victories (13) and MOP’s (three) in reining while dialing up a 66.1 scoring average.

Off from official competition since Oct. 28, the Skyhawks travel to the Northeast this weekend as they head to Dover, Del. for a pair of meets. UT Martin takes on No. 8 Baylor on Friday, Nov. 17 and Eastern College Athletic Conference rival Delaware State on Saturday, Nov. 18.
