One local JMCSS football program will now be searching for their next head coach. Scott Akin officially resigned from his position as the head coach of the Liberty Tech Crusaders Wednesday morning.
“Coach Akin has dedicated tremendous energy and passion into trying to make Liberty a winning football program,” said JMCSS Deputy Superintendent Dr. Ricky Catlett in an official statement. “We greatly appreciate his commitment to our student athletes. We thank him for his contributions he made in leading the Liberty football program.”
Akin spent the last four seasons leading the Liberty program, finishing the 2023 season with an 0-10 record.
