4 Union Men’s Soccer Players Earn Academic All-District Honors

JACKSON, Tenn. – Alpay AltuntasOstian Bowen, and Stan De Vries of the Union men’s soccer program earn Academic All-District Honors, voted by College Sports Communicators (CSC).

The 2023 Academic All-District Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Altuntas, a 5-foot-7 defender, started all 15 games for the Bulldog’s this past season. Alpay collected four shots on goal and two assists.

Bowen, a 6-foot forward, started in all 15 games as well for Union and recorded two goals, three assists, and 14 shots on goal.

De Vries, a 6-foot-1 midfielder, started in 12 games for the Bulldogs men’s soccer team. De Vries accumulated five goals, one assists, and 12 shots on goal. De Vries also was voted First Team All-GSC and DII CCAA First Team All-South Region.
