
JACKSON, Tenn. – #4 Union defeats Christian Brothers, extending the Lady Bulldog win streak to nine games. Union currently ranks first in the GSC with a 9-0 overall record (4-0 GSC). Christian Brothers’ record drops to 1-7 overall (1-3 GSC).
Union came into the game winning the previous four meetings with Christian Brothers and held a 22-2 all-time record versus the Buccaneers.
First Period: #4 Union 33, Christian Brothers 9
The starting five for the #4 Lady Bulldogs: Shanique Lucas, Jazalyn Anousinh, Macey Lee, Courtney Zensen, Olivia Lee
Olivia Lee forced a turnover on the first possession, leading to a Jazalyn Anousinh fast-break score to get the Lady Bulldogs on the board. One of Union’s many three-point threats Lauren West drained a three-pointer from the left wing, giving Union an early 5-0 lead. Brooke Hampel then got in on the early scoring run, hitting a three-pointer of her own extending the Bulldog lead to eight with 6:45 left in the first period. The Lady Bulldogs continued to work relentlessly on the defensive side of the ball, producing ten turnovers in the first six minutes of action. Olivia Lee converted a three-point play opportunity, stretching the Bulldog run to 19-2. Lauren West drilled another deep three from the right wing, pushing her point total to eight. Union held a 22-point lead with 1:30 left in the first period. Macey Lee, like her sister, converted on an and-one opportunity late in the first period.

Second Period: #4 Union 56, Christian Brothers 17
Shanique Lucas scored the first points for Union in the second period, earning a tough bucket through contact. West continued to shoot at a high percentage, nailing her third three-pointer of the game to extend the Union lead to 31 points. Jazalyn Anousinh recorded her first steal of the game and instantly found Macey Lee under the basket. On the following possession Brooke Hampel fought through traffic to get a tough basket. The Lady Buldog’s led 44-13 with five minutes left in the second period. Emma Kallas scored in the post to make it 50-13 Union. The Lady Bulldogs went into halftime with a 39-point lead

Olivia Lee connected on her first three-pointer of the game to begin the second half, followed by a Courtney Zensen three to give the Lady Bulldogs a 46-point lead. Brooke Hampel converted layups in back-to-back possessions, pushing her point total into double-digits. Shylee Morrison found her stroke from deep, connecting on a corner three with three minutes left in the period. Morrison tacked on two more points off free throws, giving Union a 49-point lead. Going into the final ten minutes of play, the Lady Bulldogs led Christian Brothers 85-28.
After the third period, Macey Lee and Hannah Hampel led all scorers with 13 points.
Fourth Period: #4 Union 107, Christian Brothers 35
Union continued to control the pace of the game early in the period thanks to a steal from Shanique Lucas and scored on the other end by Emma Kallas. Kallas continued her impressive outing with a three-point play conversion, becoming the 6th Lady Bulldog to reach double-digit scoring. Macey Lee hit a corner three in front of the Union bench to make the score 96-30 Lady Bulldogs. Keisharna Lucas knocked down a three from the right wing with a little over a minute left in the game. Union went on a 13-minute 34-8 run to put an exclamation mark on their impressive outing.
Union finished with six players scoring in double digits (Macey Lee, Lauren West, Brooke Hampel, Jazalyn Anousinh, Emma Kallas, Shanique Lucas. The Lady Bulldogs are now 38-2 in their last 40 home games. Unions 72-point win is the largest margin of victory since Union joined the GSC in 2012.
