
JACKSON, Tenn. – On Dec. 17, the Union University men’s basketball team beat Valdosta State University 84-76. With the win, Union’s record improves to 5-5 overall (2-4 GSC), and Valdosta State’s record falls to 5-6 overall (2-5 GSC).
Justin Debuck led the Bulldogs in points with 20, and Jeremiah Littlepage led in rebounds with 11. Union led 48-31 at halftime and added 36 points in the second half to get the victory over Valdosta State.
Layne Sarver, Isaiah Victor, Devaki Garr, and Littlepage also reached double digit points with 10, 12, 11, and 16, respectively. Jordan Pyke had the most assists for the Bulldogs with five. Union shot 47.1 percent (33-70) from the field, 30.3 percent (10-33) from 3-point range, and 61.5 percent (8-13) from the free throw line.
LaTrell Tate led Valdosta State with 20 points. The Blazers shot 41.5 percent (27-65) from the field, 38.9 percent (7-18) from behind the arc, and 75 percent (15-20) from the free throw line.
