
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Following a career-high scoring performance, University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball standout Kenley McCarn was honored as both the Ohio Valley Conference Player and Freshman of the Week.
A native of Melbourne, Ark., McCarn posted her second career OVC Player of the Week honor and fourth OVC Freshman of the Week selection. She averaged 21.0 points while adding 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in a pair of home contests last week. The combo guard shot 52.0 percent from the field while knocking down six three-pointers.
McCarn opened the week with 11 points, six rebounds and four steals in a win over Freed-Hardeman. Then a few days later she equaled her previous career high by scoring a game-high 31 points against South Dakota while filling the stat sheet with six rebounds, three assists and two steals in the overtime contest.
The Skyhawks will cap off non-conference play on Thursday, Dec. 21 when traveling to Arkansas State. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.
