MEDINA, Tenn. — December 20th began the National Early Signing Period for high school athletes. South Gibson’s Cameron Clark was among those who officially solidified a future at the next level.

Wednesday afternoon in front of his coaches, teammates, family, and friends, Clark signed his national letter of intent to continue his football career next season at the University of Mississippi. The defensive star for the Hornets was a highly sought after recruit, receiving numerous offers from Division 1 schools all over the country.

After nearly walking away from football altogether a few years ago, Clark put together quite the resume on the gridiron. Over the past two years, Clark recorded 117 tackles, 24.5 tackles-for-loss, 10.5 sacks, and 32 QB hurries. He was also named the Region 6-4A Linebacker of the Year for the 2023 season, helping lead South Gibson to an 8-3 record.
