
MARTIN, Tenn. – With three consecutive league titles and looking for more, the University of Tennessee at Martin football program has released its full 2024 schedule including four non-conference games and a loaded eight-game slate in Big South-OVC Football Association action.
The 2024 schedule features six home games at Hardy M. Graham Stadium while traveling to six opponents in a loaded 12-game schedule. The Skyhawks will square off against two Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) programs in Kansas State (Big 12) and Kennesaw State (Conference USA) while also playing non-conference matchups against Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) foes North Alabama (United Athletic Conference) and Missouri State (Missouri Valley Football Conference).
The 2024 campaign marks the second season of the Big South-OVC Football Association. While UT Martin and Gardner-Webb served as co-champions during the inaugural season in 2023, the association also features Charleston Southern, Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood, Southeast Missouri, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and newest member Western Illinois.
UT Martin posted its third consecutive league title – defending OVC championships in both 2021 and 2022. Over the past three seasons, the Skyhawks have recorded a 15-2 mark against league opponents while ranking in the top-25 nationally.
The 95th season of UT Martin officially kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 31 when the Skyhawks travel to Big 12 foe Kansas State for the season opener. The following week will see the squad remain on the road when traveling to Big South-OVC rival Southeast Missouri for an early-season league matchup on Saturday, Sept. 7.
UT Martin will make its long-anticipated home debut at Graham Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 14 when playing host to regional foe North Alabama in a return game from last season’s home-and-home series. Another home game will grace the schedule the following week as the Skyhawks will square off against Missouri State for the fourth consecutive season with a matchup on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The team’s final non-conference matchup features a road contest at first-year FBS program Kennesaw State on Saturday, Sept. 28 with the Owls officially making the jump from the FCS level (ASUN) this offseason.
The month of October opens with UT Martin’s annual Homecoming Game on Saturday, Oct. 5 when the Skyhawks play host to fellow league champion Gardner-Webb. The following week has the Skyhawks traveling to Western Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 12 before heading into the team’s bye week. After the brief hiatus, the Skyhawks return to action on Saturday, Oct. 26 when hosting Eastern Illinois for the annual Hall of Fame Game.
The final month of the regular season features a pair of road games at Tennessee State (Nov. 2) and Charleston Southern (Nov. 9) before finishing the campaign at home against Tennessee Tech (Nov. 16) and Lindenwood (Nov. 23).
