Neal resigns from Westview

MARTIN, Tenn. — Multiple high school football coaching changes were announced Wednesday throughout West Tennessee.

Jarod Neal kicked off the activity with his resignation as head coach of the Westview program. Neal spent the last three seasons in Martin, leading the Chargers to a Class 2A state championship in 2021.

In an official statement, Westview High School Principal Brian Allen said, “Westview would like to thank Coach Neal for his tenure as our head coach and wish him the best in the future. The search for the next Head Football Coach at Westview will begin immediately.”

West Carroll has found their next head football coach, naming Adam Dowland the leader of the War Eagle program. Prior to Wednesday’s announcement, Dowland had served the past two seasons as the defensive coordinator, the strength and conditioning coach, and the offensive line coach at West Carroll.

The Greenfield native has put together quite the coaching resume over the past 15 years, making stops at Obion County, Lake County, McCracken County (KY), Hopkinsville (KY), and Shelbyville (TN).

Humboldt made an addition to the local headlines by announcing an outside hire. Hayden Williams has been named the next head football coach of the Vikings. Williams previously served as the head coach at Bolivar.
