MARTIN, Tenn. – A total of 30 matches dot the University of Tennessee at Martin 2024 beach volleyball schedule, which was released today by Skyhawk head coach Jaclynn Wilson.
Fresh off four Ohio Valley Conference championships and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances over the last two seasons, UT Martin will play in six different states (Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas) this spring. Included in this year’s slate is six home matches – five of which will feature the Skyhawks squaring off against OVC competition.
The seventh year for the UT Martin beach volleyball program will officially begin on Feb. 23-24 as the Skyhawks head to Ozark, Mo. for a tournament. UT Martin will take on Louisiana-Monroe and event host Missouri State on the first day before squaring off against Hendrix College and Southwest Baptist on Day 2.
The Skyhawks travel to Birmingham, Ala. for the UAB Beach Classic to kick off the month of March, facing reigning NCAA Tournament participant Florida Atlantic and Eastern Kentucky on March 2 before matchups against UTEP and UAB on March 3.
The home opener is set for March 14 as the Skyhawks also begin OVC play against Chattanooga while also hosting Austin Peay that same day.
An OVC Weekend in Chattanooga tournament is set for March 22-23 as UT Martin will get their first look at Eastern Illinois, Tennessee Tech, Lindenwood and Morehead State over the two-day event.
The Skyhawks then head to a prestigious tournament in the Lone Star State on March 29-30. UT Martin will face Texas and event host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a rematch from the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The Skyhawks close out the tournament with tilts against UTEP and Stephen F. Austin.
UT Martin travels east for an April 5 OVC road matchup against Chattanooga before an appearance in the Palmetto Invitational. The Skyhawks collide against Mercer and tournament host South Carolina on April 6 before a match against UNC Wilmington on April 7.
A pair of April 10 matches in Clarksville, Tenn. against Jacksonville State and Austin Peay follow before UT Martin takes on UAB and North Alabama in Florence, Ala. on April 16.
The 2024 regular season concludes with a two-day home tournament at the Skyhawk Beach Volleyball Complex. UT Martin battles Eastern Illinois and Morehead State on April 19 before taking on Tennessee Tech and Lindenwood on April 20.
The Skyhawks will then set their sights on their third consecutive OVC Tournament championship when the 2024 version of the event is held in Morehead, Ky. on April 25-27.
