JACKSON, Tenn. – After getting off to a slow start in quarter number one, the Lane College women’s basketball team dominated their SIAC rival LeMoyne-Owen over the next three periods to defeat the Magicians, 60-46.
Trailing 18-11 at the end of the first quarter, the Lane defense was smothering the rest of the way, forcing 25 turnovers and holding the visitors to three made baskets in the second quarter and just two each in the final two stanzas.
The Dragons went on to score 21 points off of those LOC turnovers while also dominating their opponent in the paint, outscoring the Magicians 32-12.
Depth also played a major role as the Lane reserves outscored LeMoyne-Owen 25-7 in that category.
The Dragons will be at home on Monday night, January 29th, when they host Central State. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 PM in JF Lane Gymnasium.
