Lane Basketball Duo Wins Weekly SIAC Honors

ATLANTA, GA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced weekly honors for men’s and women’s basketball on Tuesday. Lane’s Darell Johnson was named Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Dyani Bernstine took home the title of Women’s Basketball Newcomer of the Week.

Trenton, New Jersey native Darell Johnson is making waves at Lane College. The senior forward delivered averaged 23.6 points per game for the week. This scoring prowess was highlighted by a remarkable 32-point outing against Kentucky State. Beyond scoring, Johnson showcased his versatility, contributing significantly across the board with an average of 8.3 rebounds per game, complemented by six assists, five blocks, and two steals.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – Dyani Bernstine, Lane College
#5 | Point Guard | Freshman | Richmond, California
Freshman point guard Dyani Bernstine averaged 10 points per game across three pivotal SIAC matchups. Bernstine recorded 19 steals, 11 assists, and 13 rebounds for week.
