
JACKSON, Tenn. – On Feb. 17, the Union University men’s basketball team defeated the University of Montevallo 81-66. With the win, Union improves to 12-12 overall (9-11 GSC), while the Falcons fall to 10-15 overall (9-12 GSC).
Four Bulldogs scored double-digit points in the game, including Ahmad Johnson with 21, Devaki Garr with 16, Jordan Pyke with 15, and Jeremiah Littlepage with 13. Pyke also led in assists and rebounds with eight and 10, respectively.
Union was down 27-25 at halftime but outscored Montevallo 56-39 to win by 15. The Bulldogs shot 54.2 percent (26-48) from the field, 52.2 percent (12-23) from three-point range, and 81 percent (17-21) from the free throw line.
Cam Glover led Montevallo with 24 points. The Falcons shot 35.6 percent (26-73) from the field, 26.3 percent (10-38) from three-point range, and 57.1 percent (4-7) from the free throw line.
Up next, the Bulldogs face the University of Alabama in Huntsville on the road. Tipoff is scheduled for Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m.
