
JACKSON, Tenn. – On Feb. 22, the Union University men’s basketball team fell to the University of Alabama in Huntsville 83-76. With the loss, Union’s record drops to 12-13 overall (9-12 GSC), and UAH improves to 16-9 overall (14-7 GSC).
Jeremiah Littlepage passed a career milestone in the game. He came into the contest with 496 rebounds and collected 8 to put him at 504, crossing the 500 threshold. The Bulldogs were down 44-36 at halftime and outscored the Chargers 40-39 in the second half. However, it was not enough as UAH was able to hold on for the win.
Ahmad Johnson led Union with 17 points, followed by Devaki Garr and Isaiah Victor with 12 each and Justin Debuck with 11. Debuck also had the most assists with four, and Parker Applegate led in rebounds with 12.
The Bulldogs shot 43.5 percent (27-62) from the field, 37.5 percent (15-40) from three-point range, and 87.5 percent (7-8) from the free throw line.
Jack Kostel led UAH with 36 points and five assists. The Chargers shot 40.6 percent (28-69) from the field, 27.8 percent (10-36) from three-point range, and 81 percent (17-21) from the free throw line.
Up next, the Bulldogs continue their road trip against the University of West Alabama on Feb. 24. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
