
JACKSON, Tenn. – On Feb. 24, the No. 6/14 Lady Bulldogs picked up their 20th Gulf South Conference victory after defeating the University of West Alabama 84-62. The Lady Bulldog’s record improves to 26-2 overall (20-2 GSC) while West Alabama’s record falls to 6-20 overall (5-17 GSC).
Olivia Lee led Union with 16 points, tying her season high. At the end of the first quarter, the Lady Bulldogs were ahead 30-14 and outscored the Chargers 21-19 in the second to go into halftime with a 51-33 lead. Union scored 24 points in the third quarter and 19 points in the fourth to beat UAH by 22.
Besides Olivia Lee, four Lady Bulldogs scored in double-digits versus West Alabama. Macey Lee had 13 points, Brooke Hampel had Shanique Lucas had 10, and Courtney Zensen had 10. Macey Lee led Union in rebounds with eight. Jazalyn Anousinh led the Lady Bulldogs in assists with seven.
Union shot 44.9 percent (35-78) from the field, 24.2 percent (8-33) from three-point range, and 54.5 percent (6-11) from the free throw line.
The No. 6/14 Lady Bulldogs will return home on Thurs., Feb. 29 to take on Lee University. General Admission is free courtesy of FirstBank.
