
JACKSON, Tenn. – Union University’s Elijah Ramsey has been named the Gulf South Conference Baseball Freshman of the Week for the week ending Mar. 3. This is Ramsey’s second freshman of the week honor this season as he won his first for the week ending Feb. 11.
Ramsey, a 6-foot-4 outfielder from Millington, Tenn., started all four games for the Bulldogs this week in which Union went 1-3. At the plate, he was 8-17 (.471 avg) with two RBIs, four runs scored, and one double. In the field, Ramsey did not commit an error and also collected 14 putouts.
Up next, Ramsey and the Bulldogs travel to Memphis, Tenn., for a three-game series with Christian Brothers University. Game one will be played on Mar. 8 with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
