
JACKSON, Tenn. – Union University’s Jordan Pyke has been named the Gulf South Conference Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Year for the 2023-24 season.
Pyke, a 6-foot-7 forward and guard from Greensboro, N.C., had a big regular season for the Bulldogs, helping them to their sixth straight GSC Tournament appearance. He started 18 of Union’s 25 games and played an average of 25.3 minutes per game. He scored 344 points, averaging 13.8 points per game and shooting 52 percent from the field. In addition to this, Pyke collected 144 rebounds for an average of 5.8 per game and totaled 55 assists, 14 blocks, and 21 steals. He also won six Freshman of the Week awards.
