
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The final round of the People’s Golf Championship was canceled today because of inclement weather conditions, cutting the University of Tennessee at Martin’s third tournament of the spring short by 18 holes.
The final scores of the event were reverted back to the 36-hole tallies. Ethan Ray and Dax Isbell finish tied for the best Skyhawk scores in the tournament with 147’s (+5). Playing as an individual, Luke Caldwell was the next highest UT Martin finisher with a 150 (+8) and was followed by Grant Phillips (152, +10), Jonathan Xoinis (156, +14) and Jacob Uehlein (159, +17).
On the team side, the Skyhawks finished with a score of 598 (+30), carding a 307 in Round 1 and a 291 in Round 2 on the par-71 Sea Palms Golf Club course. Only two teams shot under par for the tournament as Davidson (547, -21) finished atop the 22-team standings. Wright State’s Shane Ochs earned medalist accolades with a 133 (-3).
UT Martin returns to action on March 18-19 when it travels to Springfield, Mo. for the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate hosted by Missouri State.
