Union Softball Defeats Auburn Montgomery In Series Finale

JACKSON, Tenn. – On Mar. 24, the Union University softball team defeated No. 17 AUM in their series finale 5-0. With the win, Union improves to 19-13 overall (11-7 GSC), and AUM falls to 24-9 overall (13-5 GSC).

This game was all Lady Bulldogs from the start. In the top of the first, Zoey Neal and Brooke Puckett each hit two-RBI doubles, making the score quickly 4-0. Sarah Kate Thompson singled in the sixth to bring in Camryn Langley for the final run of the game as AUM was not able to push one of their own across.

The Union offense had a total of 10 hits, led by Courtney Marler who went 3-4. Macey NealZoey NealMackenzi DavidBryleigh Carneal, Puckett, Langley, and Thompson each had one hit.

Lainey Baker threw a gem in her seven-inning outing, allowing no runs on six hits while striking out four Warhawks. With the win, she is now 7-5 overall this season.

Up next, the Lady Bulldogs travel to Arkadelphia, Ark., where they will face Ouachita Baptist University in a doubleheader on Mar. 26. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
