
JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University baseball team’s record moved to 12-18 overall (6-12 GSC) following their 11-7 loss to Arkansas Tech University.
Lane Evans got the nod in the midweek contest with Arkansas Tech. Evans surrendered five earned runs on six hits over three frames of work. Cole Smith, Brody Mann (L, 1-1), Ryan Evans, Chase Spears, Scotty Wyatt, and Ethan Orwig all threw an inning for the Bulldogs on Tuesday evening.
The Bulldog offense scored seven runs on 10 hits and three errors. The lone extra-base hit for Union came off the bat of Grant Ross, clubbing his seventh homer of the season. Will Allen Smith, Caden Cutrell, and Ross all collected at least two hits in the matchup. Dyllon Barrett and Mitch Sisk also collected a hit in the loss. Elijah Ramsey and Smith each picked up a stolen base. Ross, Barrett, and Colby Davis all drove in runs versus the Arkansas Tech pitching staff. Ross led the team in runs batted in with three.
Union will next host Freed-Hardeman University in a midweek contest on Apr. 2 at 6:00 p.m. General admission will be free courtesy of FirstBank.
