JACKSON, Tenn. – After dropping game one on Friday, the Lane College baseball team took the next two games, including a 13-3 run rule victory in game three, to secure the series win over Spring Hill College.
Runs came early in often for the Dragons in the rubber game of the series, scoring in each of the first four innings while building an 11-3 lead, highlighted by a five run 4th inning that saw Pollito Perez and Eli Garcia both triple and later score.
The middle of the order produced in droves as four different players recorded multiple hits while three of those four had multiple RBIs.
Garcia along with Dakotah Danner and Desmond Adam each had two RBI while Adam had a team high three runs.
The pitching staff was efficient for the hosts, surrendering three runs on seven hits while striking out four batters.
Ricky Jennings (1-1) got the win in relief, throwing 3.2 innings and allowing no runs on three hits.
The series victory over the Badgers is the first in school history, having dropped the first eight series with Spring Hill before this weekend.
