
PARAGOULD, Ark. – The Lane College softball team swept a doubleheader on Tuesday against Crowley’s Ridge College. The two wins pushed the Dragons’ overall record to 22-7.
Game Notes
– Jersey Cabana (11-3) picked up the win in game one; Cabana pitched 8.0 innings and allowed just one earned run; she had a season-high 12 strikeouts
– Autumn Phillips (7-3) got the complete game win in game two; Phillips surrendered two earned runs on eight hits
– Shanna McNair was 3-for-4 with a double and two sacrifice hits on the day
– Takya Garrett was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored
– Aspyn Beattie had a team-high four hits on the day with three RBI
– Kaylee Stinnett registered three RBI, including the game winning hit in the top of the 7th of game two with the score tied 3-3
– Lane is now 14-2 over their last 16 games
– Stinnett (.461) and Penelope Foote (.440) currently rank 2nd and 3rd respectively in the SIAC in batting average
– Lane’s team batting average of .332 ranks 2nd in the SIAC
– Lane’s team ERA of 2.53 ranks 1st in the SIAC
The Dragons return to action with a doubleheader on Thursday, April 4th, when they host division rival Tuskegee at the West Tennessee Sportsplex. Game one is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM.
