
JACKSON, Tenn. – The Lane College baseball team picked up a crucial series win this past weekend over rival LeMoyne-Owen College.
Series Notes
- Lane opened the series with an 8-0 shutout and took game two in dominate fashion, 22-2; The Magicians avoided the sweep on Sunday, rallying from a two run deficit in the bottom of the 9th inning to win 15-14 on a walk-off sacrifice fly
- Thomas Touchette (4-2) earned the win in game one, pitching 8.0 innings and allowing no runs while striking out 13 batters
- Nate McKenna (5-2) got the series clinching win in game two, throwing 6.0 innings with five strikeouts and two runs allowed
- Ty Benniefield led the way at the plate for Lane going 7-for-12 (.583) with six runs, three RBI, and one home rune
- Dakotah Danner had a team-high seven RBI on six hits including one home run
- Eli Garcia finished with five RBI and three runs scored
