UT Martin Track Team Secures Big Performances At Alumni Classic

JONESBORO, Ark.– The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field team set numerous personal records and finished with several podium spots in their performance at the Alumni Classic hosted by Arkansas State.
Meet Highlights
·       Maggie Roy finished in first place in the 800 meter with a blazing time of 2:14.59 which set a new personal best.
·       Angus Monro earned two top-five finishes with a second place performance in the 800m (PR, 1:54.64) and a fourth place finish in the 1500m (3:52.50).
·       The men’s 4×100 team of Khalid White, Samir Smith, Chadwick Stewart and Ja’Kobe Ward set a new school record and finished atop the podium with a time of 41.49.
·       White added on to his big day garnering two first place finishes in the 400m (49.08) and the 100m (10.65). The sophomore also set a new PR in the 200m (21.84) while finishing fourth.
·       Morgan Mitchell nabbed a PR of 59.95 in the 400m which was good enough for fourth place.
UT Martin will have one final regular season meet at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn. next week (April 26-27) before the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships.
