JACKSON, Tenn. – Eli Snelson, who was announced earlier this week as GSC pitcher of the Week, also earned NCBWA (National Colliegate Baseball Writers Assosciation) South Region Pitcher of the Week and TSWA (Tennessee Sports Writers Assosciation) Pitcher of the Week honors.
NCBWA: “The first regional award for Union this season, Snelson notched his fourth win of the season last week as Union defeated Montevallo, 2-1. The junior right-hander was credited with the complete-game victory, recording a 1.00 ERA in nine innings, while allowing one run and scattering three hits in the outing. Snelson faced 31 batters and posted a .107 opponent batting average, eight strikeouts, and three walks.”
TSWA: “On the hill, Union junior pitcher Eli Snelson was named the Pitcher of the Week. The Huntsville, Ala., product worked a complete game as he allowed just one earned run on three hits, while striking out eight in a 2-1 victory over Montevallo to collect his fourth win of the season. With the 1.00 ERA, Snelson faced 31 batters, walking three, and posted a .107 opposing batting average.”
