MARTIN, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball head coach Kevin McMillan has announced the addition of Florida Atlantic transfer Kayana Armbrister to the program’s 2024 signing class.
“Kayana is an extremely athletic, versatile player that we can have play inside or out,” McMillan said. “She shoots the three well, can put it on the floor and has the ability to defend out on the perimeter or in the post. With her versatility, it will really help our team by playing so many different positions.”

Armbrister joins the Skyhawks after spending one season at Florida Atlantic in the American Conference. During her stint with the Owls, she appeared in four games while adding two points, three rebounds and a block in limited opportunities. Her best game came against UTSA in which she scored two points in just one minute of play. She also registered a season-high two rebounds against St. Thomas.
Prior to her season at the college level, she prepped at Dexter Southfield. During her standout prep career she tallied four MVP honors and led Dexter Southfield to three city championships. Her senior year she averaged nearly a triple double with 23 points, 12 rebounds and nine blocks per game en route to her second All-NEPSAC honor. Along with becoming a member of the program’s 1,000 point club, she was also selected as the Boston City Championship Game MVP. Her breakout season came as a sophomore when she tallied 22 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks per game to lead her squad.
Armbrister joins the group along with fellow Division I transfer Daejah Richmond (Southeast Missouri) and a pair of early prep signees in Taylor Scohy (Bellbrook, Ohio) and Yar Tong (Calgary, Alberta).
