UT Martin Beach Volleyball Adds 4 Signings For 2025 Season

MARTIN, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin head coach Jaclynn Wilson has announced the signings of MC Rehm, Amara Traiger, Riley Rushing and Lauren Mariscal to the 2025 Skyhawk beach volleyball roster.

These four will join a UT Martin program that has won each of the last three Ohio Valley Conference regular season championships and made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances since 2022.

MC Rehm, 5-7, R-Fr., Gulf Breeze, Fla. (Louisiana-Monroe)

Redshirted last season at Louisiana-Monroe under head coach Michael Hobson…Was part of a Warhawks squad that notched 16 victories, including a pair of wins in the Sun Belt Conference Championship tournament…Prepped at Gulf Breeze High School, where she also played indoor volleyball before focusing solely on beach volleyball…Took part in the inaugural beach volleyball season at GBHS as the Dolphins went 12-1 during the regular season, won a district championship and advanced to the state playoffs in 2023 under head coach Chelsea Kroll…Partnered with fellow NCAA Division I signee Dixie Farish (UC Davis) at the No. 1 spot during the successful 2023 campaign…Has amassed 1,378 points on the AVP Tour in beach volleyball…Accounted for 14 top-five tournament finishes and 20 top-10 placements since April 2021…Finished first in the Flounders Polar Plunge Warmup (alongside partner Riley Wisniakowski) and the Bayou Beach Volleyball Tournament (playing with partner Alyx Zapatka) in back-to-back events in December 2022…Placed as runner-up in the Madsand AVP America Qualifier (with Riley Bloomberg in May 2021), at the Bayou Beach Junior’s Doubles Tournament at Pier Park (with Emma Hampton in December 2021) and in the First Coast Volleyball Series (with Annika Huhtamaki in September 2022)…Was a member of the Gulf Coast USA Volleyball High Performance beach volleyball team.

“MC has had a lot of high-level training in the sand,” Wilson said. “She has a high IQ of the sport and brings a lot of experience to our program.”

 

Amara Traiger, 5-10, Jr., Shawnee, Kan. (Stetson)

Also slated to play indoor volleyball at UT Martin this fall, joining the Skyhawks after two seasons at Stetson University under head coach Kristina Hernandez…Was part of a Hatter program that posted back-to-back 22-win seasons with a 2023 Atlantic Sun Conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance…Finished out her high school career at St. James Academy after playing her first two prep seasons at Mill Valley…Tallied 624 points on the AVP Tour in the span of two months from November 2021 to January 2022, winning back-to-back events…Paired up with Bella Scherfenberg to claim top honors at the Vollis Winter College Showcase (Dec. 4, 2021) and the Beach Dome New Year Bash (Jan. 3, 2022)…Also claimed third-place in the Vollis Jungle Tour Junior Series #1 event alongside playing partner Ella Weilert on Nov. 6, 2021.

“Amara gives us size and high-level experience we were looking for,” Wilson said. “Her steady demeanor makes her easy to pair with and I feel strongly that she will make an immediate impact.”

 

Riley Rushing, 5-11, Jr., Snowmass Village, Colo. (Tusculum)

Spent the last two seasons playing at Tusculum University, a NCAA Division II program located in Greeneville, Tenn. that also produced current Skyhawk teammate Olivia O’Keefe…Was part of 32 combined team wins under head coach Jason Morris in 2023-24, nine of which came over NCAA Division I competition…Helped lead the Pioneers to five combined postseason victories in the AVCA Small College Beach Championship tournament during her tenure, which included a 34-25 individual record playing across all five slots in the lineup…Was an integral member of Tusculum’s 21-12 squad in 2024 as her 25 victories (against just 10 losses) ranked as the third-most individual wins in a single season in school history…Played a majority of her decisions at No. 3, going 16-8 alongside playing partner Hannah Marsh…Won eight consecutive matches from March 1 to March 15…Emerged victorious against the No. 2 pairings from Division I schools Austin Peay (April 5) and Jacksonville State (April 6)…Added a third win over a NCAA Division I school with a triumph out of the No. 3 slot against Central Arkansas on March 15…Chalked up nine victories as a freshman in 2023, six of which came out of the No. 5 position in the lineup alongside teammates Landry Tea and Jordyn Anderson…Ended the season as Tusculum’s No. 1 pair with Anderson by her side…Scored head-to-head wins at No. 5 over NCAA Division I opponents Jacksonville (Feb. 26), Central Arkansas (March 5), UAB (March 5), Morehead State (March 20) and Eastern Kentucky (March 25)…Prepped at Aspen High School, where she played volleyball for head coaches Brittany Zanin and Niki Lee…Was a two-time all-conference honoree, including first team accolades with a spot on the all-state honorable mention squad in 2021…Slammed down a team-high 183 kills and set the program record for most kills in a single match (21) as a senior in 2021…Additionally earned all-conference second team honors in 2019…Garnered top-five finishes in five AVP Tour events since 2020, including runner-up status alongside partner Allie Patton at the Beach Bash Juniors/AVPA Nationals and Beach Week Qualifier on May 30, 2022…Comes from an athletic background as her mother Caroline played tennis at both LSU and Southern Miss while her grandfather Allen played basketball at Furman.

“Riley is fast and springy,” Wilson said. “She’s a really great fit for us and will be a fun one to watch throughout the year.”

 

Lauren Mariscal, 5-10, Fr., Naperville, Ill. (Neuqua Valley HS)

Prepped at Neuqua Valley High School where she also played indoor volleyball as an outside hitter and defensive specialist…Has racked up over 4,500 player points over 16 tournaments on the AVP Tour since the summer of 2019…Finished in the top-10 in 15 of those events and came home with top-five efforts in nine separate tournaments over the last five summers…Mariscal and her playing partner Elise Gordon won the AVP America Illinois #3 tournament on July 9, 2022 – capping off a successful summer where she also placed second in the All In Volleyball Wisconsin #3 event with Leah Norris as her partner…Added a fifth-place finish alongside Gordon in the Manhattan Beach Juniors Tour Stop 3 tournament that summer…Teamed up with Norris once again in the summer of 2021 to place second in the AVP America Illinois #9 tournament while also placing third (AVP America Illinois #2) and fifth (AVP America #4) in two other events…Also boasted a trio of top-five finishes in the summer of 2020, finishing third alongside Ava Lowell at the AVP America Illinois #10 tournament and third with Gordon as her partner at the AVP America Illinois #8 event…Additionally placed fifth alongside Isabelle Schroeder at the AVP America Wisconsin #2 tournament.

“Lauren plays fast,” Wilson said. “She has trained and competed at a high level in the sand and we feel she really fits in with our style and speed of play.”
