MARTIN, Tenn. — Forever Communications and the Sports731 Network are excited to welcome Westview High School as a live streaming video partner for the upcoming school year. As the local area continues to gear up for the 2024 football season, here are a few things to anticipate from the Chargers this fall.

The Westview Chargers enter the upcoming season with a palpable sense of determination and optimism following a 7-5 record and a second-round playoff exit last year. Under the leadership of returning head coach Matt McConnell, who brings experience from his successful tenure at Camden, the team has undergone strategic adjustments during the offseason to address weaknesses and enhance their performance.
Offensively, the Chargers are anchored by a first-year starting quarterback and boast a deep and talented group of receivers. They are aiming to achieve a balanced attack with the addition of a strong running game, which will be crucial in driving their resurgence this season.
Defensively, Westview has focused on strengthening their ability to control the line of scrimmage and halt the running game of their opponents. This defensive strategy will be pivotal in securing victories on Friday nights.
Coach McConnell emphasizes the blend of youthful talent and seasoned leadership within the team. He highlights the return of experienced players who have logged significant playing time, noting their role in mentoring younger teammates and contributing to team cohesion and development.
Looking ahead to the regular season, the Chargers are poised to make a definitive statement. With a well-rounded roster, a committed coaching staff, and a steadfast ambition to contend for a state championship, Westview is prepared to defy expectations and reaffirm their standing among the top-tier programs in the state.
