UT Martin Volleyball’s Dylan Mott Named OVC Player To Watch

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Dylan Mott, a 5-8 senior on the University of Tennessee at Martin volleyball squad, was named a “Player to Watch” by the Ohio Valley Conference today.

Mott was one of 11 honorees on the 2024 “Player to Watch” list, unveiled by the conference with only eight days remaining before the start of the volleyball season.

A Hendersonville, Tenn. native, Mott enters the fall with 1,369 digs – ranking third amongst OVC returners in 2024 and fourth in Skyhawk program history. Her 75 all-time service aces are also the most amongst UT Martin returners as she has logged 395 sets over 110 matches in her Skyhawk career.

Last season, Mott made 15 starts while splitting time at libero/defensive specialist and outside hitter. She ranked second on the squad with 298 digs (3.01 per set) and service aces (22) while posting 41 kills and 42 assists over 99 sets played. She posted her first career double-double with a career-best 12 kills on a .444 hitting percentage (zero errors in 27 swings) with 16 digs against SIUE on Oct. 20. She reached double-digits in the dig column in 16 separate matches, including four instances of 20-plus scoops (season-best 21 digs in back-to-back matches at Missouri State and against Kansas City on Sept. 1-2). She additionally paced UT Martin with 18 service aces in Ohio Valley Conference play, landing a career-best four aces against Western Illinois on Oct. 14.

Mott is expected to anchor the defense for head coach Jaclynn Wilson this fall for UT Martin, who officially open the 2024 season at the Crimson Tide Invitational on Aug. 30-31 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
