
FLORENCE, Ala. – The Union University women’s cross country team posted a fourth place finish at the University of North Alabama Invitational Saturday. The event featured nine teams with 72 runners and took place at McFarland Park.
Union’s Victoria Markham and Addi Aguayo paced the Lady Bulldogs with top-10 performances. Markham finished fifth with a time of 18:40 while Aguayo was ninth with a time of 18:55.
Division I schools Jacksonville State (Alabama) and North Alabama took first and second place, while Gulf South Conference foe West Florida was third.
Mary Scott Tritt was Union’s third best runner with a time of 19:32, good for 20th place. Ayla Young finished 22nd (19:39), Mia Bunton finished 44th (21:34), Camille Haas finished 46th (21:41), and Sophie Crisler was 62nd (25:27).
Up next for Union will be the Rhodes College Invitational at Shelby Farms in Memphis, Saturday, September 21.
