CALERA, Ala. – The Union University men’s golf team opened the fall season with a runner-up finish at the Full Moon BBQ Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo. The two-round event took place at Timberline Golf Club and featured eight teams with 44 golfers.
Gray Campbell in third, Kip Patterson in fourth, and Trace Robinson in sixth led the way for the Bulldogs. Campbell was 2-under for the event, while Patterson (+1) and Robinson (+2) where close behind. Eric Boutwell won the event at -14.
Andrew Westmoreland finished 29th (+10), while Timothy Pinkston played just one round.
Union’s second place finish at +8 was behind Montevallo’s -9 for the event. Union finished ahead of Trevecca (3rd), Christian Brothers (4th), Arkansas-Montevallo (5th), Montevallo B (6th), Spring Hill (7th), and Miles (8th).
