
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Union men’s cross country finished in 27th place as a team in the “Blue” group of the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday with an aggregate time of 2:16:38 (27:19).
The Bulldogs were paced by Ryan Keeton, who finished in 69th place with a mark 26:09. Union’s top competitor in its first two races of the season, Aaron Fynaardt, did not compete.
Xavier University won the event with a team time of 2:06:04 (25:12). Freshman Kennedy Bett of Cumberland University (NAIA) was the fastest individual runner, finishing in 24:26.
Other Union runners included Tristan Kelly (26:27 – 95th), Joseph Hamilton (27:22 – 159th), Caleb Cook (27:51 – 173rd), Riley Garrison (28:46 – 197th), Noah Jinks (28:52 – 199th) and Kaden Moseley (28:56 – 202nd). Cook’s run was a season-best, while freshmen Moseley and Hamilton set new personal marks in their young careers.
The 8k race featured 30 teams from all NCAA divisions and the NAIA, including GSC foe Auburn-Montgomery, which took 13th place.
Next for Union is the Watson Collegiate Classic, hosted by Mississippi College on Friday, October 18. The GSC Championships will take place on October 26.
