DANBURY, Conn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian program collected three of the four Eastern College Athletic Conference Riders of the Week awards handed out today as Gabby Adams (flat), Lexi Bailey (horsemanship) and Logan Putvinski (reining) were each recognized.
This announcement marks the first career ECAC weekly award for Adams, sixth for Bailey (fifth in horsemanship) and fourth for Putvinski. Those three helped the No. 8 ranked Skyhawks to a split in their first competition of the season, barely falling 8-7 against No. 10 Fresno State before a resounding 15-5 victory over ECAC foe South Dakota State in Brookings, SD.
A sophomore from Burton, Ohio, Adams posted a MOP ride of a career-best 85 points on the way to a win last Saturday at South Dakota State, besting her head-to-head competitor by nine full points aboard Sweet Pea. She also added a 77-point effort in her matchup against Fresno State over the weekend, earning a team-best 81.0-point scoring average on the early season.
Bailey went 2-0 with one MOP in horsemanship over the weekend, starting with a 75-point ride against Fresno State for a 2.5-point win over her competition on Ranger. The senior out of Union Mills, Ind. followed that with an MOP effort of 74.5 points at South Dakota State, winning by three points on Marshall. Her two outings equated to a team-high 74.8 scoring average so far in 2024-25.
Putvinski also boasted an unblemished 2-0 mark in the first two meets of the season, accounting for a MOP effort of 68 points aboard Snoop against Fresno State. The senior who hails from Knoxville, Tenn. then generated 68 points once again on Snoop for another triumph against South Dakota State, downing her head-to-head competitor by three points.
