MARTIN, Tenn. – Fresh off the program’s fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball team has released its upcoming nonconference schedule for the 2024-25 campaign.
UT Martin will square off against eight teams which earned postseason berths last season in addition to a loaded Ohio Valley Conference schedule. The Skyhawks will play NCAA Tournament participants UCLA (#2 seed), Louisville (#6 seed) and Tennessee (#6 seed) while also matching up against WBIT (Hawaii and Missouri State) and WNIT (Butler, Central Arkansas and Southern Indiana) participants.
The Skyhawks will play a health dose of its nonconference schedule at home with only three true road games on the slate. The season will open with the home opener against North Alabama on Nov. 4 in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center before traveling later in the week to in-state foe Tennessee on Nov. 7. The matchup against the Lady Vols will mark the first for the program since 2012 when the two teams met up in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The next three games will be played in the Elam Center as perennially ranked Louisville comes to town on Nov. 12. The Skyhawks will then play host to ASUN foe Central Arkansas on Nov. 16 before welcoming Missouri Valley Conference opponent Missouri State to town on Nov. 19.
The Skyhawks will spend their Thanksgiving holiday in Honolulu, O’ahu with three games in the American Savings Bank Rainbow Wahine Showdown. The schedule features a neutral site matchup against top-10 ranked UCLA on Nov. 29 before playing tournament host Hawaii on Nov. 30. Their three-game stay will be capped off with another neutral site game against Fresno State on Dec. 1.
The team’s final road nonconference game of the season will see the Skyhawks travel to Hinkle Fieldhouse to play Butler on Dec. 5. The weekend before OVC action starts up, UT Martin will play host to Sun Belt foe Arkansas State on Dec. 15 before capping off nonconference play against NAIA foe Fisk on Dec. 29.
The previously announced 20-game OVC schedule runs through March 1 as UT Martin faces each league member in a home-and-home series before the OVC Championship tournament on March 5-8 in Evansville, Ind.
