Union Women’s Soccer Falls To West Florida

JACKSON, Tenn. – On Oct. 18, the Union University women’s soccer team lost to the University of West Florida 3-0, snapping their four-game win streak. The Argonauts now sit in first place in the Gulf South Conference, and the Lady Bulldogs follow closely behind in third place. With the loss, Union’s overall record drops to 6-3-2 (5-1-2 GSC), while West Florida improves to 10-1-2 overall (8-0-1 GSC).

The scoring was all West Florida as the Argonauts scored two goals in the first half and one in the second. Mya Swinton had a big day, collecting two assists and scoring the third goal.

West Florida led in shots, shots on goal, corner kicks, and fouls with 13, eight, nine, and 13, respectively. Union led in saves with five.

The Lady Bulldogs had three shots on goal in the match, two from Bethany Guinness and one from Lucia RevueltoKirsten LaVallee played all ninety minutes in goal with five saves.

Up next, Union will travel to Valdosta, Ga., to face Valdosta State University on Oct. 25 at 6:00 p.m.
