BRENTWOOD, Tenn.- After two lockdown performances, University of Tennessee at Martin soccer standouts Parker Gelinas (Defensive) and Mac Titus (Goalkeeper) have been named Ohio Valley Conference Players of the Week.
This is the second time this season the duo has claimed both awards (also occurring on Aug. 30) and the first time in program history that the same tandem claimed their respective awards twice in one season.
The Skyhawks opened the week with a 2-0 road victory at Western Illinois on Thursday before claiming a 1-0 win on the road at Eastern Illinois on Sunday.
In both matches, Titus secured a shutout to collect six points on the week for the Skyhawks. The Chelsea, Ala. native made seven total saves against 23 shots in 180 minutes on the pitch. She now ranks third in the conference with three shutouts this year.
Playing the full time in both contests, Gelinas helped fuel a backline that was the only OVC school to claim two shutouts during the week. The senior from Germantown, Tenn. has gone the distance in every match this season, accumulating 1,440 minutes.
UT Martin will host OVC foe Southeast Missouri on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. for Senior Day on ESPN+.
