BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the second time this season, a University of Tennessee at Martin representative has been named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as redshirt senior Jackson Twerdahl earned that title today.
Twerdahl is the 20th different Skyhawk to be spotlighted as OVC Golfer of the Week, joining teammate Cole Isbell (Oct. 3) as UT Martin student-athletes to win that award in 2024-25.
A Nolensville, Tenn. native, Twerdahl is fresh off his best performance as a Skyhawk. He was responsible for his first career collegiate top-10 tournament finish at the LaTour Intercollegiate held in Mathews, La., finishing sixth in the field of 72 golfers with a total score of 213 (-3).
During Tuesday’s third and final round, Twerdahl carded four birdies and 13 pars on his way to a 70 (-2). He tapped in a team-best five birdies as part of a 71 (-1) in Round 2 after adding three more red scores in an even-par effort in Monday’s opening round.
Overall, Twerdahl secured 12 birdies and ranked second in the entire tournament in fewest bogeys (five). He additionally held the team lead in par-3 scoring (3.08, +1) and par-5 scoring (4.50, -6).
Twerdahl currently ranks 10th in the OVC with a team-high 72.5 stroke average and has also accounted for a team-best 48 birdies during the 2024-25 campaign. He has produced six rounds of par or better in 14 opportunities this season, including a season-best 69 on Sept. 30 at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate.
The LaTour Intercollegiate was the last event on UT Martin’s fall schedule as Twerdahl and the Skyhawks will resume their season on Feb. 16-18 at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz.
