Union Men’s Soccer Falls To Montevallo On The Road

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Falcons scored four second-half goals and beat Union on a what proved to be a dreary Friday night for the Bulldogs, who lost 5-0 at Montevallo.

Union falls to 6-7-1 (1-6-1 GSC) with the loss, while Montevallo improves to 6-4-2 and sits in sixth place with a conference record of 4-4-0.

The hosts scored the game-winner the 13th minute, and, after taking a 1-0 advantage into the break, erupted in the second frame with goals at 55′, 68′, 78′ and 83′.

Union mustered just ten shots and five shots on goal in the contest, falling to 2-6-1 this season when the shot on goal total is five or fewer.

Union’s last loss by a margin of five or more goals came in a 6-0 defeat at Montevallo on October 18, 2022.

The Bulldogs have been outscored 20-4 in GSC play this season through eight conference matches.

The team will look to break its offensive slump on Sunday with an upset of #15 Auburn-Montgomery. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
