Union Volleyball Falls To West Florida

JACKSON, Tenn. – On Oct. 26, the Union University volleyball team lost a hard-fought match against the University of West Florida with the score being 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-19). The second and third sets went back and forth, but the Argos, who have received votes from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) to be in the top-25 poll, were able to pull out the three-set victory. With the loss, Union’s record drops to 5-17 overall (3-10 GSC), while West Florida improves to 17-5 overall (12-0 GSC).

Freshmen Carleigh Charles and Abby Davis had big games for Union as Charles had eight kills and nine digs and Davis had two aces and 11 assists. Reese Owens also contributed greatly to the Lady Bulldogs’ effort, leading in kills, blocks, and digs with nine, two, and 13, respectively. Ashley Pruitt collected the most assists with 18, and Dylan Tolliver had three aces to lead the team in that category.

Up next, Union travels to Cleveland, Tenn., to face Lee University on Oct. 29 at 4:00 p.m.
